BV Foot Clinic: Make Sure Your Shoes are Sans Sand

Make Sure Your Shoes are Sans Sand

If you love walking barefoot on the beach, beware of hidden hazards, including broken glass, shells, and rusty metal fragments. Of course, even the sand can make tiny cuts in your feet; and if you’re diabetic, that can lead to infection and serious problems.

So, be careful at the beach and remember the importance of practicing diligent diabetic foot care.  And if you want to take any sand home, make sure it’s not in your shoes, where it can really do some damage.

BV Foot Clinic: Plantar Fasciitis Therapy is Just a Quick Time-Out

Plantar Fasciitis Therapy is Just a Quick Time-Out

Because vigorous activity often triggers swelling or straining in the ligament-like band that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot, plantar fasciitis occurs more frequently in the summer.

If you’re suffering from this condition, our Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) can rid you of your pain safely and effectively. Best of all, it takes just 30 minutes, and requires no downtime, so you’ll only need a quick time-out from your summer fun!
