If
you love walking barefoot on the beach, beware of hidden hazards, including broken
glass, shells, and rusty metal fragments. Of course, even the sand can make
tiny cuts in your feet; and if you’re diabetic, that can lead to infection and serious
problems.
So, be careful at the beach and remember the importance of practicing diligent diabetic foot care. And if you want to take any
sand home, make sure it’s not in your shoes, where it can really do some damage.
