BV Foot Clinic: You'll Be Out Standing - and Running - Pain Free

You’ll Be Out Standing - and Running - Pain Free

It’s spring, and people are lacing up their shoes, ready to hit the ground running. While this may be a healthy step, sudden, intense activity in normally sedentary people can lead to stress fractures in the delicate foot bones. So if you’re unused to such workouts, ease into them slowly. However, if you have foot pain at the start of a walk or run, which eases, then increases, but subsides after a rest, you may already have a stress fracture.
Of course, it could be something else. But, whatever the problem, we'll diagnose it properly; and our outstanding treatments will have you out standing, walking, and running – pain free – in no time!

BV Foot Clinic: Don't Tip-Toe Around the Problem of Ingrown Toenails

Don’t Tip-Toe Around the Problem of Ingrown Toenails

Although millions of people suffer from foot ailments, many disregard their discomfort for as long as possible before seeking help. This may be understandable in cases when they must make arrangements for complicated surgeries and long periods of being bed-ridden; but not when their troubles can be quickly solved. Ingrown toenails, for example, while often causing a great deal of pain, are very easy to deal with. Moreover, treatment is essential, as they can become infected; and that’s never good, especially for diabetics.

If you have an ingrown toenail, don’t keep tip-toeing around the problem, when we can remove it with a simple, five-minute procedure that’ll soon have your toes back in tip-top condition!

BV Foot Clinic: Jump Up and Go - But Start Out Slow

Jump Up and Go – But Start Out Slow

Winter's over, and you're raring to resume your warm- weather pastimes. But if you’re planning to go out, and go all-out with exercise, exercise some moderation – at least, at first – as some restraint can prevent some strains. For example, the Achilles tendon, which connects the calf muscles to the heel, can be injured by sudden, intense physical activities, or increases in running speeds or distances.

If you have pain, stiffness, or swelling at the back of the heel, come see us. If it is Achilles tendinitis, it’s important that we treat it before it tears or ruptures. And remember, you may be ready to jump up and go, but play it safe, and take it slow!
